ICOM Intercom Doha

Intercom Doha was held at the state-of-the-art National Museum of Qatar, whose architecture was inspired by the desert rose. The interior of the museum follows the desert theme with sand-coloured undulating walls which evokes the imagery of sand dunes.

Museum leaders and academics presented and passionately discussed the challenges that they face in the evolving landscape of museums through the pandemic crisis and beyond. The recurring themes of emotional wellbeing of staff and visitors, ethics, and swift technological evolutions dominate the conversations.

The enriching knowledge shared at Intercom Doha will be the brought back to each museum leaders’ home countries, impacting the lives of museum staff in small but powerful grains like those in an hourglass.
