Elliot James Tan (Trainee Teacher)

Elliot James Tan is currently majoring in Business at Singapore Management University (SMU), after completing his National Service.

He learnt the violin for about eight years and completed his ABRSM Grade 8 Violin examination in 2020. He studied under Teacher Jayne during the final stage of his Grade 8 journey, where he further developed his technique, musical understanding, and discipline as a violinist.

Elliot has performed in school and church settings, and also has experience helping younger students academically. He taught Mathematics to his younger brother for the O-Levels and supported his peers in Economics during the IB programme. These experiences shaped his patient and encouraging approach to guiding students.

He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Art Club in secondary school and as a House Prefect at ACS int, giving him valuable experience in leadership, responsibility, and communication.

Elliot is focused on helping students build a strong foundation. His teaching style is patient, supportive, and encouraging, with the aim of helping students enjoy music while growing in confidence and discipline.
