Violin Teaching by Elliot James Tan

Elliot James Tan is studying Business at Singapore Management University (SMU), where he plans to major in Finance. Alongside his academic pursuits, Elliot is passionate about music education and completed his ABRSM Grade 8 Violin examination in 2020. During the final stage of his Grade 8 journey, he studied under Teacher Jayne, which greatly enhanced his technique, musical understanding, and discipline as a violinist. 

Elliot enjoys playing a wide range of music and was awarded 2nd Prize in the Violin Category of the Barrett Music Competition (School competition), where he was recognized for his good tone control and thoughtful choice of repertoire. He has performed in various settings, including school and church, and has also supported younger students academically. He taught O-Levels Mathematics and provided assistance to his peers in Economics during the IB programme, shaping his patient, encouraging, and supportive approach to guiding students. 

Additionally, Elliot served as Vice-Chairman of the Art Club in secondary school and as a House Prefect at ACS International, gaining valuable experience in leadership, responsibility, and communication.
