Violin Training for Children: Rika Kato's Journey

1st private violin lesson with Ms Jayne focused on the classic piece 'Twinkle Star', a favorite among young musicians preparing for violin competitions.

1st violin competition, the "Music Singapore Competition", featured pieces like O Come Little Children & Long Long Ago, showcasing the talents of young musicians. The 1st chamber competition had Alyssa and Sierra performing as "The One & Only" string ensemble, participating in the "Antonin Dvorak Mladym Competition" in the Czech Republic online, where they proudly won a Silver award. Additionally, the Christmas Concert took place at the Roxy Mercure Hotel lobby, highlighting the importance of violin lessons for aspiring talents.

ABRSM Grade 3 exam (March) Distinction

National Library Woodlands showcase with young musicians performing Vivaldi's Winter duet alongside Nina.

ABRSM Grade 5 exam (October) Distinction, alongside ongoing violin lessons to prepare for future challenges.

3rd violin competition, the "Music Singapore Competition", features young musicians showcasing their talent with pieces like Potstock Souvenir de Sarasate, Paganini Cantabile, and Kreutzer No. 2. 

Additionally, a charity performance titled "Art Jam" is a collaborative effort between CapitaLand and ART:DIS, aimed at empowering Persons With Disabilities (PWD). 

In preparation for these events, students are taking violin lessons to excel in their ABRSM Grade 7 exam in April, where several aim for Distinction, followed by the ABRSM Grade 8 exam in June, also targeting Distinction.

4th violin competition "14th Josef Micka Violin Competition" included pieces like A. Dvorak ii. Larghetto, iii. Scherzo Molto Vivace, and iv. Finale. Allegro. This event is a significant platform for young musicians to showcase their talent. I was awarded 3rd prize in Category 3, reflecting the high level of skill seen in many violin competitions.
